摘要
高速列车一般指时速在200公里以上的列车。20世纪50年代初,法兰西共和国首先提出了高速列车的设想,并最早开始试验工作。1976年,用柴油电动机车牵引的高速列车在英国投入服务,这是当时英国最快的载客列车,最高时速达250公里。
法兰西共和国则以电力机车为研究对象,其高速电力引列车在1978年曾创下时速260公里的纪录。1981年10月,新的高速列车“T.G.V”在巴黎─里昂干线正式投入使用。采用流线形造型的“T.G.V”和和常规列车相比,空气阻力减小了三分之一。它装有大功率动力装置,具有较强的爬坡能力,可以高速爬上35%的陡坡,也可在坡路上起动,使用的仍是普通铁轨线路,曾创下时速380公里的纪录。
高速列车是在现有的柴油机车、电力机车和铁路的基础上,对动力系统、行走系统、车厢外形和路轨系统等加以改进,并没有改变传统火车和铁路和基本面貌。除了在牵引机车
方面的改进以外,虽然人们还在轨道方面进行了一些新的尝试,如西德、日本、美国等国家修建了一些短程单轨铁路,但由于建造费用庞大,比普通铁路复杂,不能适应长途重载铁路运输的需要,所以没有普遍采用。由于传统牵引机车和路轨系统等方面的问题,如轮、轨的摩擦难以克服,所以进一步提高车速困难很大。若想使铁路运输有一个大的飞跃,而需在牵引机车和路轨系统等方面采用全新的设计,如某些国家正在研制之中的磁悬浮列车。
